SALT LAKE CITY -- DeMar DeRozan scored a season-high 37 points as the Toronto Raptors beat the Utah Jazz 109-100 on Friday.
DeRozan produced his second 30-point game by shooting 10 of 20 and making all 14 of his foul shots.
He rebounded from a 10-point showing in Wednesday's blowout loss at Denver by producing 17 points in the third quarter as the Raptors took an 89-82 lead into the fourth.
DeRozan added six more points in the fourth as Toronto opened a double-digit lead and was never threatened again.
Kyle Lowry and Norman Powell added 15 points apiece as the Raptors shot 53.5 percent. Lowry also handed out 10 assists for his second double-double of the season.
Rookie Donavan Mitchell scored 25 points for Utah, which fell to 5-1 at home. Rodney Hood added 17 points while Rudy Gobert finished with 15.
Going into the game the Jazz held opponents to just 94.4 points per game through their first eight contests of the season. Despite the fact that Utah's offense topped 100 points for the third straight game, their defense couldn't stop the Raptors.
The game was close most of the way but Toronto outscored Utah 43-32 in the first 18:23 of the second half. The Raptors took the lead for good at 62-56 when Lowry fed Powell for a 3-pointer with 9:14 remaining.
The Jazz made it a one-point game late in the third on a 3-pointer by Mitchell but Toronto finished the third with a 10-4 spurt as DeRozan made two pull-up jumpers, three foul shots and a 3-pointer 28.2 seconds left.
Mitchell scored 12 points in the third quarter and became the fifth player in team history to score 20 or more points in the first six games of his career. Each game has occurred in the last week as he scored 22 against the Los Angeles Lakers Saturday and 28 in Wednesday's overtime win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
NOTES: Utah became the last Western Conference team to lose a home game. The Raptors beat the Jazz for the fourth straight meeting. ... Toronto G C.J. Miles missed the game due to the flu. ...
