Last Meeting ( Jan 7, 2019 ) Orlando 95, Sacramento 111

The Orlando Magic were cruising toward .500 before getting off to a tough start on a six-game road trip. The Magic will try to turn things around and pull even on the trip when they visit the Sacramento Kings on Monday.

Orlando won four of five before embarking on the trip and squandered a four-point lead with under a minute left in Friday's 98-94 setback at Phoenix. "It's unfortunate because we had the lead with 58 seconds left and just couldn't hold onto it because they made a few more plays than us," Magic center Nikola Vucevic, who committed a key turnover late, told reporters. "I had the switch and I tried to get to the paint and score over (Booker), but they went pretty hard for the ball. I felt like I got fouled, but they didn't call it and it is what it is. That one play doesn't necessarily change the game, but it was at a big moment. It is what it is, and I have to do a better job of taking care of the ball." The Kings were feeling confident with wins in three of four before running into the NBA-best Milwaukee Bucks and dropping a 127-106 decision at home on Friday. Sacramento was shorthanded up front with Marvin Bagley III (foot) and Richaun Holmes (shoulder) sitting out and lost forward Harrison Barnes to a quad injury during the contest.

ABOUT THE MAGIC (18-21): Orlando shot 37.1 percent from the floor on Friday, but Evan Fournier finished with 28 points to reach 20 for the first time in six games this month and point guard Markelle Fultz added 15 points. Fultz, who scored a career-high 25 points against Brooklyn last Monday, is the driving force behind Orlando's offense but is still trying to find a balance between scoring and distributing and was second-guessing himself after Friday's loss. "If I could go back, I'd go with my instincts and go up (for the layup) and live with it," Fultz told reporters about a play in the final minute that resulted in a turnover. "But at the end of the day it's a learning experience and I'm glad I was in that situation."

ABOUT THE KINGS (15-24): Bagley missed the last eight games with soreness in his left foot but is on track to return for Monday's contest while Holmes, Barnes and guard Bogdan Bogdanovic (ankle) are all day-to-day. De'Aaron Fox tried to carry the load on Friday and finished one rebound shy of a triple-double with 19 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds in the loss. Nemanja Bjelica recorded a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds on Friday and is averaging 11.8 points and nine boards in five games this month.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Magic PF Aaron Gordon (calf) sat out Friday and is day-to-day.

2. Kings veteran SF Trevor Ariza has scored in double figures in a season-high three straight games.

3. Sacramento is enjoying a five-game winning streak in the series.

PREDICTION: Magic 109, Kings 103
