Last Meeting ( Nov 4, 2019 ) Houston 107, Memphis 100

The Memphis Grizzlies attempt to stretch their season-best winning streak to six games when they host the Houston Rockets on Tuesday. Memphis looked destined to experience a long season when it started 6-16 but it has turned things around with a 12-6 streak.

Power forward Jaren Jackson topped 20 points in four straight contests and made at least one 3-pointer in 28 consecutive games, the second-longest streak in franchise history behind Tyreke Evans (31 in 2017-18). "You take it for what's worth," Jackson Jr. told reporters of the team's success. "You understand that it's because of the work that you're putting in and you just take every game, enjoy the moment and you move on." Houston won four of its last five games after rolling to a 139-109 home win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday. Rockets point guard Russell Westbrook had 30 points and 10 assists against Minnesota and has scored 20 or more points in each of his past 14 appearances.

TIME: 8 p.m. ET. TV: NBA TV, AT&T SportsNet Southwest, FS Southeast

ABOUT THE ROCKETS (26-12): Houston star guard James Harden, who scored 44 points against the Grizzlies earlier this season, recorded 32 against Minnesota to reach a milestone and raise his career point total to 20,022 points. "It's a great accomplishment, obviously," Harden told reporters of exceeding 20,000. "I have a bigger picture and bigger goals but it's pretty cool." Harden leads the NBA with a 37.7 scoring average and topped 40 points in four of the past nine games and 15 times overall this season.

ABOUT THE GRIZZLIES (18-22): Center Jonas Valanciunas recorded 31 points and a season-high 19 rebounds in Sunday's 122-102 rout of the visiting Golden State Warriors for his 20th double-double of the campaign and he approves of the way the team is playing. "We're all playing, sharing the ball, trying to find the open man," Valanciunas told reporters. "That gives us the advantage over another team. It's fun to play that way. Just look for the open man and try to create a play for another guy." Rookie point guard Ja Morant had 11 points and 10 assists against the Warriors for his sixth double-double of the season.
