The Golden State Warriors look to bounce back from a rare setback when they host the New York Knicks on Tuesday in the opener of a three-game homestand. The Warriors possess the best record in the NBA but they were outplayed on Saturday when they suffered a 116-108 road loss against the Houston Rockets.

Golden State coach Steve Kerr wasn't happy with a contest in which his club gave up 40 first-quarter points, scored a meager 17 in the fourth, committed 19 turnovers and was outrebounded 59-42. "We didn't deserve to win," Kerr said afterward. "We played pretty poorly, did a lot of things to hurt ourselves and we're playing a great team. Can't get away with it." New York is 2-2 on a seven-game road trip after being trounced 127-107 by the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. The Knicks have dropped 12 of their past 16 games and have matched a season worst by being five games below .500.

ABOUT THE KNICKS (21-26): New York is just 6-17 on the road and getting routed by the lowly Lakers on Sunday was just the latest in shaky away-game outings. "They just played harder than us in everything," center Enes Kanter told reporters. "They got a lot of offensive rebounds. We got a lot of turnovers. I don't think we can play like this in road games and expect to get a win." Standout power forward Kristaps Porzingis averages a team-best 23.3 points but tallied just 17 against Los Angeles as he failed to reach 20 for the sixth time in his past 11 games.

ABOUT THE WARRIORS (37-10): Golden State hasn't lost multiple games in a row this season, winning all nine previous occasions it played after defeats. Point guard Stephen Curry will be looking for a bounce-back outing after scoring 19 on 6-of-20 shooting against Houston, while backcourt mate Klay Thompson was even worse with just eight points on 3-of-11 shooting. Forward Kevin Durant scored 26 points and has reached 20 or more in 10 of the past 11 games, and fell one point short in the other contest.
