Trayce Jackson-Davis had 19 points and 14 rebounds, and Justin Smith scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds, to lead Indiana to a 64-50 victory over South Dakota State on Saturday afternoon in Bloomington, Ind.
The Hoosiers (7-0) have won all seven of their games by double figures heading into Tuesday's home game against Florida State as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
Jackson-Davis made 9 of 17 shots and added four blocks. Smith finished 6-for-11 from the floor, including 1 of 2 on 3-point attempts. Devonte Green finished with 11 points and three assists.
Reserve Tray Buchanan led the Jackrabbits with 15 points on 7-for-10 shooting. No starter scored more than six points.
South Dakota State stayed within range of the Hoosiers for the first 35 minutes despite shooting 33.9 percent (19 of 56), committing 17 turnovers and compiling just seven offensive rebounds. It helped that Indiana gave away the ball 19 times.
Jackson-Davis scored a basket and Smith drained a 3-pointer to pad Indiana's lead to 45-34 with 15:35 to go.
The Jackrabbits (6-4) had a solid defensive effort to not let Indiana pull away, holding the Hoosiers well under their average of 90.2 points entering the game. Indiana shot 41.4 percent for the game.
South Dakota State was within 56-46 with 5:23 remaining following a layup by Buchanan. Green buried a 3-pointer to increase Indiana's lead to 59-46 to spark a 6-0 run that ended with a dunk by Jackson-Davis for a 62-46 edge at the 4:03 mark.
The Hoosiers had two players in double figures in the first half, led by Smith's 11 points while Jackson-Davis had 10 points and seven rebounds to grab a 37-26 lead.
South Dakota State's only lead came at 2-0, and Indiana led by as many as 13 points before the break.
