Ethan Thompson scored 16 of his game-high 24 points in the second half as Oregon State rallied to a 76-68 win over Colorado on Sunday in Boulder, Colo.
Thompson, a junior, added nine rebounds and five assists as the Beavers (11-3, 1-1 Pac-12) stormed back after trailing by 12 points in the second half.
The Buffaloes (12-3, 1-1) led 53-41 on a Tyler Bey jumper with 13:21 to go. They were still up by 11 with just under eight minutes left before Oregon State rallied with a 10-0 run to set up an exciting final five minutes.
Thompson and Tres Tinkle combined for nine straight points to turn a Colorado four-point lead into a five-point advantage for the Beavers at 71-66 with 57.3 seconds to go. D'Shawn Schwartz's putback with 34.8 seconds left kept Colorado alive at 71-68, but the Beavers scored the final five points, including a fast-break dunk by Thompson.
Colorado managed just one field goal in the final 4:39 and failed to build off the momentum of an upset of No. 4 Oregon on Thursday.
Bey finished with 20 points and eight rebounds. Point guard McKinley Wright had 14 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds for Colorado.
Zach Reichle had 19 points for the Beavers, while Tinkle and Kylor Kelley had 12 each.
Colorado had a 39-32 lead at halftime with 11 points from Shane Gatling, who didn't score in the second half. The seven-point lead matched Colorado's largest of the first 20 minutes.
Oregon State made just 4 of 14 3-pointers but made 52.9 percent of its shots for the game. The Beavers also made 18 of 21 free throws. Colorado shot 49.1 percent.
The Beavers, who led for just 8 minutes and 30 seconds of the game, had a 42-32 edge in points in the paint.
