Kevin Samuel tipped in a missed layup with 2.0 seconds left to lift TCU to a 59-57 victory over Kansas State on Tuesday night in Manhattan, Kan.

Samuel also had 15 rebounds and key blocked in the final minute.

K-State tied the score with 13 seconds left on David Sloan's 3-pointer. But TCU responded with RJ Nembhard driving the lane and missing a shot in the paint that Samuel put in for the winning points.

TCU (11-3, 2-0 Big 12) is 2-0 in conference play for the first time since the Horned Frogs joined the Big 12 in 2012-13.

Desmond Bane led TCU with 16 points. He was joined in double-figures by Nembhard with 15, while Samuel and Jaire Grayer had 10 each.

Kansas State (7-7, 0-2 Big 12) was led by Xavier Sneed with 19 points. Makol Mawien added 10.

With TCU holding its largest lead of the game at 40-29, K-State used an 8-0 run to trim the lead to 40-37 early in the second half. But with 11:56 left in the half, K-State's second-leading scorer Cartier Diarra picked up his fourth foul. He had to sit with just three points.

He returned with 6:20 remaining but he scored just two more points before fouling out with 26 seconds left. The Wildcats tied the score on Sloan's trey but never could get over the hump.

TCU raced to a quick 7-0 lead, but K-State responded to take its first lead at 13-12. After a see-saw stretch, TCU closed the half on a 12-2 run to take a 35-25 lead into the locker room. The biggest advantage was behind the 3-point line, where TCU was 7 of 16 while K-State was just 1 of 8.

TCU was led by Bane, Samuel and Nembhard with eight points each in the first half.
