Andrien White scored all 17 of his points in the second half to lead host Wake Forest to a 56-44 win over cold-shooting Clemson in an ACC game in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Saturday.
Wake Forest (10-11, 3-8 ACC) snapped a three-game losing streak, including a defeat at Clemson on Jan. 21. Coach Danny Manning beat Clemson for the first time. The Demon Deacons broke a seven-game losing streak to the Tigers.
Wake Forest pulled away with a 14-0 run -- including nine points from White -- to start the second half after leading 22-19 at halftime.
White was Wake Forest's first double-digit scorer in the game when he made a 3-pointer with 8:12 left in regulation. Brandon Childress finished with 10 points, five rebounds and five assists. Olivier Sarr tallied 13 rebounds.
Clemson, which shot only 30.5 percent from the field in the game, scored only nine points in the first 11 minutes of the second half. The Tigers made only 4 of 21 from 3-point range in the game.
Wake Forest did not shoot much better, making 34.5 percent of its shots, including 28.0 percent from 3-point range.
Aamir Simms was Clemson's lone double-figures scorer with 14 points. He also had eight rebounds. The next highest scorer for the Tigers was John Newman III with only seven points. Newman had four of Clemson's eight assists in the game.
Simms made 6 of 16 shots from the field, while his teammates were 12 of 43.
The Tigers (11-10, 5-6 ACC) is 2-3 since beating North Carolina and Duke in consecutive games on Jan. 11 and 14.
Clemson was also beset by 15 turnovers, which resulted in Wake Forest having a 16-4 advantage in points-off-turnovers.
The teams next play Wednesday, with Tigers at Virginia and Wake Forest traveling to Louisville.
