Kristian Doolittle scored 19 points to help Oklahoma post a 73-62 win over No. 20 West Virginia on Saturday in Big 12 play at Morgantown, W.Va.
Doolittle was one of four players in double figures for the Sooners (18-11, 8-8 Big 12).
Brady Manek added 15 points, Austin Reaves had 13 and Jamal Bieniemy 12 for the Sooners. Bieniemy had just one turnover in a game-high 38 minutes running the offense for Oklahoma.
The loss was the sixth in seven games for the Mountaineers (19-10, 7-9). Only one of those losses before Saturday's had come at home.
Oklahoma's NCAA Tournament hopes took a major hit a week earlier with a 17-point loss at Oklahoma State. But the Sooners now have consecutive wins over ranked opponents after Tuesday's win over No. 22 Texas Tech and Saturday's upset and are in much better position to make the tournament.
Miles McBride led West Virginia with 13 points.
A late Mountaineers run wasn't enough.
After trailing by 21 with just over seven minutes left, West Virginia had a quick 17-4 run to get within eight with three minutes remaining, but couldn't pull any closer.
It looked like the Sooners had taken a six-point lead into halftime after Jalen Hill's tip-in in the final seconds of the first half.
But coming out of the locker room for the second half, officials reviewed the stretch and waved off Hill's basket. The clock stopped with 2.5 seconds remaining as Reaves launched a shot that was grabbed by Manek, whose miss set up Hill's tip-in.
Officials determined the sequence took longer than the time remaining and waved off the basket.
The Mountaineers didn't score in the final 5:43 of the first half, missing their final 11 field-goal attempts of the half.
Oklahoma steadily increased the lead in the early part of the second half, before West Virginia made a late push.
The Mountaineers were just 4 of 25 from behind the 3-point line and shot 34.3 percent overall.
The Sooners shot 49.1 percent and were 8 of 21 from 3-point range.
