Wendell Mitchell scored 25 points and Josh Nebo added 20 as the Texas A&M Aggies defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks, 77-69, on Saturday in College Station, Texas.
Texas A&M (16-14, 10-8 SEC) finished with a winning record in the 18-game SEC regular season.
Arkansas (19-12, 7-11) lost its second game with Isaiah Joe since the Razorbacks guard rejoined the team on Feb. 22 following knee surgery. The Hogs lost their fifth straight SEC road game. Their last road win was Feb. 1 at Alabama.
Arkansas built a 28-21 lead with 3:37 left in the first half. Texas A&M then went on a 12-2 run to grab a 33-30 lead at halftime.
Texas A&M limited Arkansas to three points in a span of five minutes and 45 seconds, bridging the end of the first half and the start of the second half. The Aggies led, 35-31, with 17:52 remaining.
Texas A&M led, 53-50, with 10:14 left in regulation. The Aggies then went on a 10-4 run to build a 63-54 lead with 5:15 to go. Mitchell and teammate Savion Flagg hit 3-pointers to fuel that run for A&M.
Arkansas narrowed that nine-point deficit to five, at 65-60, with three minutes left. Texas A&M then hit four free throws with 2:51 remaining - two technical foul shots by Mitchell, two double-bonus free throws by Quenton Jackson - to create a 69-60 lead. Arkansas never got closer than six points the rest of the way.
The Aggies' Mitchell finished 8 of 13 from the field, including 5 of 10 on 3-pointers. Nebo went 9 of 15 from the field for the Aggies. Emanuel Miller grabbed 10 rebounds for Texas A&M, which outrebounded Arkansas, 41-25.
Mason Jones led Arkansas and all scorers with 30 points. He hit 9 of 13 field goals and 8 of 11 3-pointers. Joe scored 22 points on 7-of-17 shooting, including 6 of 15 3s. Arkansas hit 14 of 32 3-pointers.
