Corey Kispert recorded 17 points and seven rebounds to help No. 9 Gonzaga roll to a 101-62 victory over Texas Southern on Wednesday night in Spokane, Wash.
Joel Ayayi added 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists as the Bulldogs (9-1) rebounded from an 82-64 loss to Michigan on Friday in the Bahamas.
Filip Petrusev, Killian Tillie and Drew Timme scored 12 points apiece for Gonzaga. Ryan Woolridge tallied 11 points and five assists, and Admon Gilder scored 10.
Petrusev and Tillie each had three steals for the Bulldogs, who shot 53.8 percent from the field but knocked down just 8 of 27 from behind the 3-point arc.
Tyrik Armstrong made all four of his 3-point attempts while scoring 15 points for Texas Southern (2-6). Yahuza Rasas had nine points, nine rebounds and three steals for the Tigers, who shot 39.7 percent from the field, were 5 of 20 from 3-point range and committed 18 turnovers.
The Bulldogs are 5-0 all-time against Texas Southern with an average winning margin of 37.2 points.
Gonzaga held a 51-32 rebounding edge and collected 18 on the offensive boards. The Bulldogs committed 11 miscues.
Gonzaga shot 61.1 percent from the field in the first half while taking a 53-30 lead. Texas Southern shot 37.8 percent in the opening 20 minutes.
The Tigers trailed 25-21 just past the midway point of the first half after Bryson Etienne hit a jumper.
The Bulldogs answered with a 20-4 surge to open up a 45-25 lead on Ayayi's 3-pointer with 3:14 remaining.
The advantage reached 25 on Petrusev's inside hoop during the final minute before Gonzaga settled for the 23-point lead at the break.
The Bulldogs started strong in the second half with nine straight points to take a 62-30 edge.
A 3-pointer by Kispert pushed the advantage to 82-46 with 8:09 left.
Ayayi's 3-pointer 32 seconds later increased the margin to 38.
Pavel Zakharov scored on a put-back to move Gonzaga over the century mark and make it a game-high, 39-point margin with 1:04 remaining.
