Ayo Dosunmu had 24 points, five assists and four steals and Trent Frazier added 17 points, including five 3-pointers, as Illinois topped 100 points for the second consecutive game with a 117-65 win over Lindenwood in Champaign, Ill., on Tuesday night.
Andres Feliz, another of six Illini players in double figures in scoring, finished with 16 points, nine assists, five rebounds and four steals. Da'Monte Williams scored a career-high 18 points, Kofi Cockburn finished with 12 points and eight rebounds, and Giorgi Bezhanishvili scored 10 points.
The Illini (6-1) have won four straight games, all by double digits, since losing at Arizona on Nov. 10. They've scored at least 100 points in consecutive games for the first time in five years.
Sophomore guard TJ Crockett was 10-for-16 from the field to score a team-high 24 points for the Division II Lions (3-2).
The Illini continued their recent surge with another strong start to set the tone for a blowout victory, after the Lions shocked the Illini by seizing an 8-2 lead behind five points from Crockett.
Three days after scoring a season-high 120 points against Hampton, the Illini embarked on another scoring surge by reeling off 21 unanswered points. Frazier sparked the first-half run with three 3-pointers.
The Illini eventually surged ahead 40-15 following a layup by Feliz with 7:29 left in the first half.
Jermaine Hamlin's layup right before the buzzer ended a memorable first half for the Illini, capping a 19-3 run for a 66-29 lead. The 66 points topped their 62-point effort in the opening half against Hampton, accounting for the most in a half since scoring 67 points in the first half against Georgia Tech on Nov. 23, 2001.
The Illini shot a fiery 61.5 percent (24-for-39) and dominated the boards 22-11 in the first 20 minutes.
The Lions managed just two assists and turned the ball over 18 times to offset a 5-for-12 shooting display from behind the arc in the first half.
