Andre Gordon's jumper with two seconds remaining gave Texas A&M a 68-66 victory over visiting Auburn on Saturday afternoon in a Southeastern Conference game at College Station, Texas.
Emanuel Miller led Texas A&M (6-2, 1-1 SEC) with 16 points, while Jay Jay Chander and Gordon added 10 each for the Aggies.
Auburn's Jamal Johnson led all scorers with 20 points. Allen Flanigan added 16 for the Tigers (6-4, 0-2) and Thor threw down 10 for the Tigers.
The Aggies led from the game's second basket but were up just 62-59 after a dunk on a fast break by Auburn's JT Thor with 3:52 to play. Miller hit a jumper for Texas A&M to push the lead to 64-59 but Johnson answered with a 3-pointer to bring the Tigers to within 64-62 with 2:03 remaining.
A steal by the Tigers' Jaylin Williams led to a layup by Devan Cambridge to tie the game at 64 -all with 1:14 to play but Miller's putback layup with 44 seconds remaining put Texas A&M back on top.
A Thor steal and dunk tied the game 66-all with 14 seconds left. Texas A&M then worked the clock to set up the game winner from Gordon. Johnson's 3-pointer with 1 second left for Auburn was off target.
The Aggies led by as many as 13 points in the first half after a bucket by Miller with 31 seconds remaining before the break and led 33-22 at halftime. Miller and Chandler paced Texas A&M with 6 points each in the first half as nine players scored for the Aggies.
Texas A&M outshot Auburn 50 percent to 27 percent in the opening 20 minutes.
The Tigers were led by Flanigan's seven points in the half. Auburn was just 1 of 13 on 3-point shots over the first 20 minutes.
A 3-pointer by Johnson brought Auburn to within seven points at 47-40 with 11:11 to play and gave the Tigers some momentum for the stretch run.
Auburn cut the Aggies' lead to 54-51 on Flanigan's bucket from beyond the arc with 6:30 remaining, but back-to-back 3-pointers from Hayden Hefner and Savion Flagg pushed the advantage to nine points at the 5:34 mark.
