Cameron Thomas had his 12th game with at least 25 points, finishing with 27 as LSU rolled to a 104-80 Southeastern Conference victory over Auburn on Saturday afternoon in Baton Rouge, La.
LSU (14-6, 9-4) overcame a slow start to lead by double digits most of the first half and keep Auburn (11-12, 5-9) at bay the rest of the way.
Trendon Watford had 18 points and 11 rebounds, Darius Days scored 17, Javonte Smart added 16 and Josh LeBlanc Sr. had 12 for LSU, which won its third straight game in scoring a season high in points.
Sharife Cooper scored 26, Allen Flanigan 13 and JT Thor 10 to lead Auburn, which lost for the fifth time in its past six games.
Days, who left the game briefly in the first half because of a leg injury, made back-to-back 3-pointers as LSU increased its 16-point halftime lead to 20 points less than two minutes into the second half.
He hit another 3-pointer that pushed the lead to 64-43 with 16:26 left.
Cooper made four free throws in a row to pull Auburn to 64-49 with 15 minutes remaining, but LSU had an answer. Smart's 3-pointer put his team back in command 77-54 with 12:28 left.
Auburn scored the first five points of the game and took a 10-5 lead behind Devan Cambridge's five points before LSU took over.
LSU shot 53.4 percent from the field, going 39 for 73. Auburn shot 37 percent (27-of-73).
