With the SEC regular-season title wrapped up, host Alabama took care of shorthanded rival Auburn, 70-58, on Tuesday night in Tuscaloosa.
The Crimson Tide swept a season series from the Tigers for the first time in six seasons.
Jaden Shackelford paced the No. 8 Crimson Tide (20-6, 15-2 SEC) with 23 points on 8-for-16 shooting, including 5-for-9 from 3-point range.
Aside from Shackelford, typically sharp-shooting Alabama struggled from beyond the arc, shooting 10-for-35 (28.6 percent) overall.
Auburn (12-14, 6-11), which trailed by 14 in the first half, battled back after the break and cut the deficit to 52-47 with 8:14 left when JT Thor finished with an emphatic dunk in transition.
But the Crimson Tide answered with a 10-0 run over the next three minutes on a 3-pointer by John Petty Jr. and seven consecutive points from Shackelford.
Petty totaled 11 points and six rebounds as he and six seniors were honored in the Tide's regular-season finale. Another senior, Herb Jones, continued to make an impact at both ends with 10 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Jahvon Quinerly chipped in 11 points and three assists off the Tide's bench, which outscored Auburn's reserves 21-10.
Auburn played its third consecutive game without freshman and leading scorer Sharife Cooper, who is still dealing with a left ankle injury.
His absence showed during a slow start in which Auburn committed eight turnovers over the game's first 10 minutes. The Tigers committed 23 turnovers overall, which kept them from sustaining any momentum.
Jaylin Williams led Auburn with 13 points and three rebounds while Devan Cambridge totaled 11 points and six rebounds. Jamal Johnson, who started again for Cooper, finished with 10 points and seven assists. Thor helped Auburn on the boards with seven rebounds to go along with seven points.
But the Tigers shot only 21-for-53 (39.6 percent) and 6-for-24 from 3-point range (25 percent).
