Timmy Allen had 18 points and nine rebounds to lead Utah to a 73-58 victory over Arizona in a Pac-12 game on Thursday at Salt Lake City.
Pelle Larsson finished with 14 points, Alfonso Plummer had 12 and Branden Carlson and Riley Battin each had 10 for Utah (8-7, 5-6 Pac-12).
Arizona (13-5, 7-5) was led by Azuolas Tubelis' 17 points and seven rebounds. James Akinjo was the only other Arizona player in double figures with 10 points, all in the second half.
The Wildcats, who led the Pac-12 averaging 79 points a game entering Thursday, shot only 37 percent from the field, including a 2-for-9 performance from 3-point range.
Arizona trailed 32-27 at halftime after Akinjo, the team's leading scorer this season, was held scoreless on 0-of-4 shooting from the field.
The Wildcats also committed eight turnovers that led to an 8-2 edge for the Utes in points-off-turnovers.
Plummer, who scored 23 points in the second half last Saturday when Utah rallied from a 19-point deficit in the second half to beat Colorado, continued his hot shooting. He led the Utes with nine points in the first half on 4-of-8 shooting.
Utah outscored Arizona 14-4 in the first five minutes of the second half to build a 46-31 lead. Carlson had seven points and Allen five in that stretch.
A 3-pointer by Plummer and then a layup by Allen increased Utah's lead to 51-33, its biggest margin, with 14:02 left.
Arizona answered with a 9-0 run that included Akinjo's first made shot from the field -- a 3-pointer with 11:47 remaining -- to cut the lead to 51-42 with 10:56.
The Wildcats would not get closer than that margin the rest of the game.
Utah shot 50.9 percent from the field with an 8-of-15 shooting performance from beyond the arc. The Utes prevented Arizona from making a comeback in the second half by shooting 57.7 percent from the field while making 5 of 6 from 3-point range.
