Isaiah Thompson scored 10 of his 18 points in the final 11 minutes to help No. 6 Purdue hold off a rally by Iowa for an 83-73 victory on Thursday in Iowa City.
Jaden Ivey scored 15 points and Trevion Williams tallied 12 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for Purdue (17-3, 6-3 Big Ten). Sasha Stefanovic sank four 3-pointers and scored 14 points as the Boilermakers completed a regular-season sweep of Iowa.
The Boilermakers shot 61.2 percent from the floor and made 13 of 22 shots (59.1 percent) from beyond the arc. They also limited the Hawkeyes to 37.5 percent shooting overall and 8 of 27 (29.6 percent) from long distance.
Iowa (14-6, 4-5) struggled to generate offense as conference scoring leader Keegan Murray was saddled with early foul trouble and sat out much of the first half as the Hawkeyes fell behind by 15.
Murray recovered in the second half to score 12 of his 14 points to go along with his nine rebounds. He and twin brother Kris Murray, who scored 23 points before fouling out, led the rally that fell short.
Iowa erased most of an 18-point deficit in the second half. A 3-pointer by Kris Murray with 12:25 to go got the Hawkeyes within 57-53, but that's as close as they got.
Thompson had all the answers late. After Keegan Murray made a 3-pointer to pull Iowa within 63-58, Thompson drained a 3-pointer of his own.
Purdue used an early 12-2 run to bolt to a big lead. Two 3-pointers by Stefanovic fueled the spree that put the Boilermakers up 21-9. On three occasions in the half, Purdue pushed its lead to 15 points.
Early in the second half, Stefanovic extended the Boilermakers' advantage to 53-35 with another trey.
Iowa answered with an 11-0 run as Jordan Bohannon and Keegan Murray drained 3-pointers and Kris Murray muscled inside for a three-point play as the Hawkeyes pulled within 53-46 with 14:58 remaining.
