Stanley Umude scored 23 points and JD Notae made two free throws with 8.6 seconds left as No. 14 Arkansas rallied to beat LSU 77-76 on Wednesday in Fayetteville, Ark.
Jaylin Williams added 19 points and 10 rebounds for Arkansas before fouling out. Au'Diese Toney scored 18 and Notae finished with 12, seven below his average, while making just 3 of 12 field-goal attempts.
The Razorbacks (24-6, 13-4 SEC) won for the 14th time in 15 games and remained tied with No. 7 Kentucky and No. 13 Tennessee for second place in the SEC, one game behind No. 5 Auburn.
Tari Eason scored 24 points before fouling out, Darius Days scored 19 and Xavier Pinson had 12 to lead the Tigers (20-10, 8-9). LSU lost for the third time in four games.
Pinson's layup gave the Tigers a 76-74 lead with 53 seconds left, but the visitors didn't score again.
Kamani Johnson made one of two free throws to cut the deficit to one with 46 seconds left, and Notae made his two free throws to give Arkansas a one-point lead.
Pinson dribbled into the frontcourt and drove down the lane but missed a layup. The Razorbacks grabbed the rebound and time expired.
Days scored five points as LSU broke from a halftime tie with a 7-0 run and grab a 42-35 lead.
Umude's jumper ended the Razorbacks' scoreless streak after 3 1/2 minutes and started a 6-0 surge.
A basket and two free throws from Williams gave Arkansas a 49-46 lead.
Brandon Murray made a layup for LSU, but Notae answered with a 3-pointer for a four-point lead.
Eason scored the next seven points to give the Tigers a 55-52 edge with 8:40 to go.
Umude made two free throws, but Eason scored five points as LSU increased the lead to 63-56 with 6:31 left.
Two foul shots and a 3-pointer by Umude pulled the Razorbacks within 65-63.
LSU built the lead to four three times before Umude's 3-pointer cut the gap to 71-70 with 2:11 to go.
Eason answered with a three-point play with 1:47 left, but he fouled out 12 seconds later.
Toney made both free throws and added a layup to tie the score at 74 with 1:20 remaining.
