Clemson jumped out to a 24-10 lead early and led at halftime 39-31, but Wofford methodically chipped away at the Tigers' lead and pulled ahead 52-49 on a three-point play by Keaton Turner with 12 minutes remaining.
Klesmit made two free throws to tie the game at 66-66 with 2:30 to play, but Hall scored five straight points for the Tigers and Dawes buried a step-back 3-pointer at the shot clock buzzer with 19 seconds remaining to help seal the victory. David Collins added a dunk for Clemson with 13 seconds left.
The game wasn't pretty; the teams combined for 47 fouls and 33 turnovers. But Clemson shot 46.9 percent from the floor and made 9-of-21 shots from 3-point range while Wofford shot 36.2 percent overall and made only 5-of-23 3-pointers.
