Buddy Boeheim and Jesse Edwards scored 19 points apiece Saturday to propel host Syracuse to a 92-69 victory over Louisville in Atlantic Coast Conference action on Saturday.
Boeheim made 5 of 9 3-pointers and Joe Girard III knocked down three 3-pointers en route to 15 points for the Orange (12-11, 6-6 ACC), who shot impressively from the field (55.2 percent), the 3-point arc (12 of 23) and the foul line (16 of 19).
Jimmy Boeheim added 14 points for Syracuse, while Cole Swider made three 3-pointers and scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals (11-12, 5-8) shot just 40.3 percent from the floor and 10 of 35 from long distance in losing for the fifth straight game and eighth time in nine contests. Jae'Lyn Withers led the visitors with 13 points, while Sydney Curry contributed eight points and 10 boards.
Louisville continued to play without leading scorer and rebounder Malik Williams, who is facing an indefinite suspension for failing to meet team standards throughout the season.
Syracuse began to create some separation with an early 12-2 run that turned a one-point lead into a 25-14 advantage. Girard capped the surge with back-to-back 3-pointers for the Orange.
Swider and Girard each knocked down a 3-pointer late in the first half as Syracuse's lead inflated to 43-26 at intermission. Girard and Buddy Boeheim each had 11 points to lead all scorers in the opening 20 minutes.
The Orange scored the first four points of the second half to lead by 21 for the first time. Shortly thereafter, Louisville whittled the deficit to 16 points before Buddy Boeheim hit two 3-pointers in less than a minute to restore the hosts' momentum.
After Mason Faulkner drained a 3-pointer for the Cardinals, Edwards made a layup with 15:49 left to push the lead back to 21. The Orange led by at least 21 the rest of the way -- and by as many as 32 -- en route to their third straight win.
Edwards finished 9 of 11 from the field to go with eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.
