Chevez Goodwin scored all of his 14 points in the second half and grabbed 18 rebounds as the No. 16 USC Trojans beat the Colorado Buffaloes 61-58 in Boulder, Colo., on Thursday night.
Isaiah Mobley scored 13 points and Boogie Ellis and Max Agbonkpolo added 11 each for the Trojans (15-2, 5-2 Pac-12), who ended a seven-game losing streak to the Buffaloes.
Jabari Walker scored 13 points and Evan Battey and Tristan da Silva scored 10 each for Colorado (12-5, 4-3).
USC led by as many as seven in the first half, but the Buffaloes closed the half on an 8-2 run to make it 25-25 at intermission.
Walker opened the second half with a layup, Goodwin dunked and da Silva hit a 3-pointer to put Colorado ahead 30-27.
Agbonkpolo and Goodwin made layups and Drew Peterson hit a jumper to put the Trojans ahead 43-37, and Nique Clifford's dunk ended a 3:18 scoring drought for the Buffaloes. Luke O'Brien drained a 3-pointer to put the Buffaloes in front 44-43 with 8:51 left.
Peterson missed a layup on the other end and Clifford hit another 3-pointer to give Colorado a 47-43 lead and force a Trojans timeout with 8:15 remaining.
Goodwin's layup broke a nearly five-minute drought for USC, da Silva answered with a 3-pointer and Agbonkpolo's layup made it 50-47 with 6:11 left. Goodwin split two free throws to make it a two-point game; and, after the Buffaloes missed, Mobley dunked to tie it at 50 with 5:05 left.
K.J. Simpson put Colorado back in front with two free throws, but a three-point play by Boogie Ellis gave USC a 53-52 lead. Battey split a pair of free throws to tie it again, and Goodwin's layup with 2:18 left put the Trojans ahead by two.
After Walker split a pair of foul shots, Ellis made a layup to stretch the lead to three. Walker made two free throws with 1:15 left to cut it to 57-56 but missed a go-ahead layup with 41 seconds remaining.
Colorado failed on two tries to tie it and USC closed it out.
