Lazar Stefanovic scored 15 points, Branden Carlson and Both Goch notched double-doubles, and Utah snapped a school-record 10-game losing streak with an 84-59 win over Oregon State on Thursday night in Salt Lake City.
All of Stefanovic's points came from beyond the arc, where he went 5 of 9 shooting. He added eight rebounds. Carlson contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Gach totaled 11 points and 10 assists off the bench.
Rollie Worster and David Jenkins Jr. also scored 13 points apiece as Utah (9-14, 2-11 Pac-12) won for the first time since beating Fresno State on Dec. 21.
Jarod Lucas and Roman Silva each scored 12 points and Maurice Calloo had 11, but they were the only Oregon State players in double figures. The Beavers shot just 39.3 percent and committed 12 turnovers en route to their sixth straight loss.
Oregon State (3-16, 1-8 Pac-12), which trailed by 13 points at the half, got within eight with just under 13 minutes left in the second half.
Things quickly went in the Utes' favor after they called a 30-second timeout.
Gach scored on a layup following the quick recharge, igniting a 10-0 spurt that included 3-pointers by Riley Battin on consecutive possessions. Battin finished with nine points.
Utah continued to pour it on, building a 26-point lead in the final minutes.
Oregon State was up 20-17 when the Utes surged ahead with 11 straight points, including 3-pointers by Gabe Madsen, Gach and Jenkins, to take a 28-20 lead.
Utah stretched that lead to 15 near the end of the first half thanks to a 7-0 run and were up 46-33 at intermission.
The Utes shot 46 percent overall and hit 15 of 35 from long range. They also outrebounded the Beavers 39-32, getting 11 boards from Marco Anthony, and had 21 assists to their opponent's 11.
