Buddy Boeheim scored 22 points and Cole Swider chipped in a season-high 21 as host Syracuse defeated Cornell for the 41st straight time, 80-68, on Wednesday night.
Jimmy Boeheim, who spent his first three seasons with Cornell, contributed 16 points and seven rebounds for the Orange (7-5), who shot 56.1 percent from the floor.
Syracuse also benefited from Jesse Edwards' 11 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks. The hosts only got five points from their bench but still improved to 27-0 all-time against Cornell at the Carrier Dome.
Keller Boothby registered 20 points and Guy Ragland Jr. notched 16 for the Big Red (8-3), who shot just 35.4 percent from the floor and committed 22 turnovers. Dean Noll contributed 10 points and seven boards.
Buddy Boeheim scored 13 first-half points and Jimmy Boeheim had 10 to help Syracuse to a 34-29 halftime advantage. The Orange actually raced out to a 17-2 lead before the Big Red shot their way back into the game to create a competitive contest at intermission.
Cornell got within 44-40 on Ragland's 3-pointer with just under 16 minutes to play before Syracuse took control. The Orange scored seven straight points, capped by a Swider 3-pointer, before Ragland made one of his own from downtown.
Swider then scored five straight points and both Boeheim brothers made a jumper to extend the lead to 60-43. Swider's two free throws punctuated the 18-3 push.
Noll's 3-pointer capped a late 8-0 run that brought the visitors within 75-66 with just over two minutes remaining. However, Syracuse knocked down three foul shots and Buddy Boeheim made a jumper to make it 80-66 with :50 left.
Swider, a transfer from Villanova, shot 8 of 12 from the floor, as did Jimmy Boeheim. Buddy Boeheim was 9 of 16 from the field for the Orange, who begin the meaty part of Atlantic Coast Conference play on New Year's Day against Virginia.
Cornell kicks off Ivy League action the following day vs. Dartmouth.
