Emanuel Miller scored a season-high 23 points as host No. 17 TCU snapped 11th-ranked Kansas State's nine-game winning streak with Saturday's 82-68 victory in Big 12 play at Fort Worth, Texas.
Eddie Lampkin had 17 points, Mike Miles Jr. recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and 11 assists, and Damion Baugh added 11 points.
The Horned Frogs (14-3, 3-2 Big 12) recorded 54 points in the paint, 32 fast-break points and 26 points off 20 Kansas State turnovers to rebound following consecutive losses to then-No. 25 Iowa State and at No. 10 Texas.
All that overcame a 3-of-19 performance from 3-point range for TCU, which used a 13-2 first-half spurt to take control.
Meanwhile, Keyontae Johnson had 18 points to lead Kansas State (15-2, 4-1), which hadn't lost since falling to Butler on Nov. 30.
Teammate Markquis Newell, who averaged 27.8 points in the previous four games, had two until he scored 12 of the Wildcats' 15 during a late stretch to get them within 12 with 2:38 to play.
TCU missed 11 of its first 14 shots and trailed 11-6 after Kansas State's Desi Sills knocked down a 3-pointer with 13:52 left in the first half. However, the Horned Frogs settled down and went on a 10-0 run, within that stretch of scoring 13 of the game's 15 points, highlighted by a pair of buckets from Baugh.
Miller, Miles and Lampkin all contributed as TCU sandwiched a 7-0 run with a pair of 6-0 spurts the remainder of the first half to eventually lead 43-29 at halftime. Miles had eight of those career-high assists, while Lampkin scored 13, in the first half as TCU made half of its 40 shots and forced 12 turnovers through the first 20 minutes.
The Horned Frogs missed eight of their first 3s until Miller opened the second half with one. Meanwhile, Kansas State missed nine of its first 10 shots while being outscored 14-4 to open the final half.
