The Iowa State Cyclones started quickly and hardly broke a sweat in demolishing Grambling State 92-37 in Ames, Iowa, on Sunday afternoon.
Tamin Lipsey led the Cyclones (4-0) with 17 points, nine assists and three steals, and four teammates joined him in double figures as coach T.J. Otzelberger substituted freely. Ten of Lipsey's points came in the first half as Iowa State built a 48-14 lead, and Grambling State got no closer after intermission.
Curtis Jones added 14 points and three steals, Omaha Biliew chipped in 14 points, and Milan Momcilovic and Keshon Gilbert 13 apiece for the Cyclones, who shot 62.7 percent from the floor.
Kintavious Dozier scored 14 points off the bench to lead Grambling State (2-2), although he also had four of the Tigers' 21 turnovers. Tra'Michael Moton added eight points.
Grambling State shot just 28.6 percent from the floor and 3 of 12 on 3-point attempts.
The Cyclones' lead reached 40 on Biliew's fast-break layup with 13:36 left in the game, and crossed 50 on Demarion Watson's layup to make it 79-28 with 7:10 left.
The Tigers scored just four points in the game's first 13 minutes, on jumpers by former Iowa State player Terrence Lewis and Moton. The Tigers had eight turnovers and were 2 of 13 from the floor in that span, and Iowa State fully capitalized.
The Cyclones hit 13 of their first 18 shots and led 32-4 with 8:26 remaining in the half. Jones scored 10 points in that span, and Momcilovic added eight.
Dozier scored on a layup with 7:08 left to make it 32-6, and he finished the half with nine points.

Grambling State will meet Sam Houston in the Trojan Classic in Troy, Ala., on Wednesday.
