Joseph Girard III hit three 3-pointers and scored 23 points, Chase Hunter added 14 points and Clemson dominated the second half in an 85-68 victory over visiting Boise State on Sunday afternoon.
PJ Hall also scored 14, as his jumper with 6:25 to go gave the Tigers (4-0) a 74-54 in the first ever meeting between the two teams that entered undefeated.
Chibuzo Agbo poured in 18 points for the Broncos (2-1) but managed only three in the second half, while Cam Martin added 15 points and O'Mar Stanley contributed 11 in the Broncos' first road game of the year.
The Tigers led 41-38 at halftime and held a 50-44 lead with 16:24 remaining after a 3-pointer from Girard.
That lead hit double digits for the first time when Hunter knocked down a jumper at the 13:24 mark to push Clemson ahead 56-46.
Girard's second 3-pointer of the day came off the dribble as he created enough space to knock down the shot and give Clemson a 66-50 lead with 9:13 left, highlighting a 12-2 run that all but put away the victory.
Playing on the road for the first time this season, the Broncos struggled early with turnovers, committing three that led to a 5-0 lead for the Tigers.
But Boise State answered and led 11-10 with 14:51 left in the half after back-to-back 3-pointers.
It was Agbo who kept the Broncos within striking distance in the first half, connecting three times from beyond the arc as Boise State was able to survive a 13-4 Clemson run and a scoring drought of more than five minutes.
