Devin Davis posted a double-double as Houston routed Arkansas 91-65 on Saturday at Houston in a battle of one-loss programs.
The senior forward and Indiana transfer scored a personal-best 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Cougars improved to 6-1. With the loss, the Razorbacks fell to 5-2.
Houston jumped on the Hogs early, scoring the first 11 points of the game and were never seriously challenged thereafter.
The Cougars built a 44-29 lead at halftime. Kelvin Sampson's squad kept up the intensity in the second frame behind four players who recorded double-digit scoring.
Corey Davis Jr. scored 17 points for the Cougars while Armoni Brooks and Rob Gray each posted 11 points. Hometown Houston product Galen Robinson Jr. doled out a game-high nine assists.
Jaylen Barford and Anton Beard led the Razorbacks with 13 points apiece. C.J Jones and Daryl Macon added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Houston shot 51.8 percent from the floor, including 10 of 21 from 3-point range (47.6 percent). The Cougars also dominated the boards by a 38-29 margin.
The Razorbacks struggled to overcome 34.5 percent shooting from the field and 31.6 percent (6 of 19) from beyond the arc.
Arkansas returns to Bud Walton Arena on Dec. 5 to play host to Colorado State, while Houston remains at home to face Fairfield on Dec. 6.
