Junior forward Tyler Cook recorded 18 points and eight rebounds as No. 21 Iowa rallied for a 76-70 overtime victory over Indiana on Friday night in Big Ten play at Iowa City.
Junior guard Jordan Bohannon scored 17 points and knocked down the tying 3-pointer with 27.3 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. Bohannon added three more 3-pointers in the extra session to finish with five overall.
Sophomore forward Luka Garza added 16 points and nine rebounds for the Hawkeyes (21-6, 10-6 Big Ten), who won for the fifth time in six games.
Senior forward Juwan Morgan scored 15 points, registered a career-high six blocked shots and added three steals for Indiana (13-14, 4-12). The Hoosiers have lost five straight games and 12 of their past 13.
Indiana freshman guard Romeo Langford scored 14 points, freshman guard Rob Phinisee added 13 points and four steals, senior forward Evan Fitzner tallied 11 points and junior forward De'Ron Davis had 10.
Indiana shot 41.3 percent from the field but just 6 of 27 from 3-point range.
Iowa was just 7 of 25 from long range despite Bohannon's late-game flurry. The Hawkeyes shot 41.9 percent overall.
The Hawkeyes took their first lead since late in the first half when Cook scored the first points of overtime with 3:25 left. After Indiana tied the score, Bohannon connected on a 3-pointer to give Iowa a 68-65 edge with 2:47 left.
Davis converted a three-point play to tie the score 22 seconds later. But Bohannon knocked down another 3-pointer to give the Hawkeyes a 71-68 lead with 2:01 left and Cook split two free throws to make it a four-point margin with 1:10 remaining.
Morgan scored on a follow-up with 49.3 seconds left to bring the Hoosiers within two, but Bohannon hit another 3-pointer with 20.2 seconds left to help Iowa close it out.
The Hawkeyes pulled within 62-60 on Cook's dunk with 1:32 left in regulation.
Phinisee split two free throws with 38.3 seconds left to give Indiana a three-point lead before Bohannon drained the tying 3-pointer from the right wing.
Langford missed a 3-point attempt at the regulation buzzer for the Hoosiers.
The Hoosiers held a 55-50 lead on Phinisee's 3-pointer with 9:41 left.
