Senior forward Paul White scored a career-high 21 points to help Oregon register a 72-61 victory over Washington State on Wednesday night in Pac-12 play at Pullman, Wash.
Junior point guard Payton Pritchard added 15 points, seven assists and three steals for the Ducks (18-12, 9-8 Pac-12), who won their third straight game. Sophomore guard Victor Bailey Jr. scored 14 points and freshman guard Will Richardson had 11 as Oregon improved to 4-7 on the road.
Senior forward Robert Franks recorded 16 points and seven rebounds for the Cougars (11-19, 4-13), who have lost four straight games and five of their past six. Sophomore forward Marvin Cannon added 12 points and seven rebounds and freshman forward CJ Elleby had 10 points and seven rebounds.
White and Bailey each were 4 of 5 from 3-point range as the Ducks went 10 of 20. Oregon shot 49.2 percent overall and had a 20-0 edge in points off turnovers.
Washington State committed 17 turnovers compared to 10 for the Ducks. The Cougars shot 42 percent from the field, including 6 of 18 from behind the arc.
The Cougars trailed by six less than two minutes into the second half before Oregon began pulling away.
Bailey drained back-to-back 3-pointers to cap a 13-4 surge to take a 54-39 advantage with 11:44 left.
Pritchard's layup boosted the Ducks' lead to 58-41 with 9:48 remaining.
Oregon led 63-45 after a basket by Richardson with 5:18 left before Elleby hit a 3-pointer and junior point guard Ahmed Ali scored on a layup to pull the Cougars within 13.
But White buried his fourth 3-pointer to make it 66-50 with 3:42 left.
Washington State later moved within 11 on two occasions before the Ducks closed it out.
White scored 13 points and Pritchard had 12 as Oregon led 41-30 at the break.
Washington State trailed 23-22 before the Ducks used a 14-4 run to open up an 11-point lead on White's basket with 1:20 remaining.
Oregon shot 58.6 percent in the half while the Cougars shot 37.9 percent.
