Southeastern Louisiana @ Tulsa preview
Donald W. Reynolds Center
Last Meeting ( Nov 13, 2011 ) Southeastern Louisiana 52, Tulsa 67
After a disappointing loss on the road against Texas-Arlington, Tulsa returned home and returned to form, taking care of business against mid-major opponents. The Golden Hurrican will look to continue to do so when they host Southeastern Louisiana on Wednesday night, a team that has yet to beat a Divison I opponent this season.
Tulsa head coach Frank Haith has tinkered with the starting lineup and rotations through the first four games, starting seven different players with eight seeing at least 17 minutes a game. A veteran core has been infused with freshman point guard Isaiah Hill, who has started the last two games. “It doesn’t matter who starts -- it’s about rotations and it’s about who plays well with who. When you’ve got so many guys, it just takes a while to get that where you need it to be," Haith said. While the Golden Hurricane haven't overwhelmed opponents offensively, the Lions are averaging just 66.8 points.

ABOUT SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA (2-2): Forward Ty Brewer is the lone Lion to average double figures, is shooting nearly 60 percent from the floor while snagging nine rebounds, though he has struggled from the free-throw line. Senior guard Von Julien has dished out 22 assists but he has turned it over 15 times, as taking care of the ball has been an issue for the whole Lions team. Sophomore guard LaQuan Butler has twice the turnovers he does assists and big man Pape Diop has coughed it up nine times without recording an assist.
ABOUT TULSA (3-1): Guard Brandon Rachal, the team leader at 17 points per game, was named the American Athletic Conference's Player of the Week after averaging 27.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals in a pair of wins last week. Hill has dished out 14 assists but has the same number of turnovers, but junior backcourt mate Darien Jackson has taken great care of the ball with an 11-to-1 turnover-assist ratio. After averaging just 3.7 points in 2018-2019, Jackson is one of two players to average double figures on the young season.
