Creighton aims for its third straight victory when it hosts North Florida on Sunday in a campus-site contest of the Las Vegas Invitational. The Bluejays are coming off an 86-70 win over Cal Poly on Friday, while the Ospreys had their four-game winning streak snapped with a loss at Iowa.

North Florida likes to shoot from long distance, with the Ospreys leading the nation with 13.7 made 3-pointers per game. Coach Matthew Driscoll's squad has five double-figure scorers, led by sophomore forward Carter Hendricksen at 15.2 points per game and senior guard J.T. Escobar at 14.5, including a team-high 23 3-pointers. The Bluejays have a pair of high-scoring guards in sophomore Marcus Zegarowski (17.8 points, .519 3-point percentage) and junior Ty-Shon Alexander (17.3, .550). Creighton is tied for 22nd in the country in 3-pointers per game with 10.3 and is averaging 79.5 points.

ABOUT NORTH FLORIDA (4-2): While the Ospreys have been hard to stop from beyond the arc, they will need to mix up their offense if they're going to continue to be successful this season. Against Iowa, North Florida shot 41 percent from the 3-point line, making 12 3-pointers in all, but ended up just 39 percent overall in the loss and had half as many free-throw attempts as the Hawkeyes (20-10). Unfortunately, sophomore reserve Josh Endicott is the tallest player on the Ospreys' roster at 6-8, so North Florida will be playing the hand it's been dealt.

ABOUT CREIGHTON (3-1): The Bluejays have been playing shorthanded, though it hasn't shown up in their results so far. Davion Mintz has been out with a high ankle sprain, while Denzel Mahoney is ineligible until December, so coach Greg McDermott has had to mix and match his lineups, going small with five guards at times. Seven players are averaging in double figures in minutes per game, though, so McDermott will need to watch his players for fatigue a little more as the Bluejays are in the middle of a stretch of four games in seven days.

TIP-INS

1. Zegarowski has been nearly perfect with his consistency this season, scoring 18 points in three of the four Creighton games, but only going for 17 in the fourth.

2. North Florida has the longest active streak by a team making five or more 3-pointers in a game with 169 straight.

3. G Ivan Gandia-Rosa is pacing the Ospreys with 6.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

PREDICTION: Creighton 79, North Florida 75
