Isaiah Stewart is playing like one of the top freshman in the nation - when he is on the court for No. 24 Washington, which will play another non-conference home game Sunday against San Diego. Stewart has dealt with some foul trouble but it hasn't stopped him from producing for the Huskies, who will play the Toreros for the second straight season.

The Rochester, N.Y., native was limited to 15 minutes in Washington's latest victory Friday against Montana, but still managed a team-high 18 points. The 6-9 forward, who upped his scoring average to 15.8 points, has yet to foul out from a game, but had four against the Grizzlies and three apiece in the season's first three games. "It's priceless to be able to teach and win," Washington coach Mike Hopkins told the media. "I don't think we played great at all. To be able to win and teach, that is going to be beneficial for this team." The Toreros and leading scorer Joey Calcaterra (three 20-point games) have dropped two straight, including a 17-point thrashing at the hands of rival San Diego State.

ABOUT SAN DIEGO (2-4): James Jean-Marie, one of two international players making an impact for the Toreros of the West Coast Conference, has two double-doubles this season - including one in the loss to San Diego State, but with a little luck he would have two more. The 6-7 forward from Montreal had nine points and 12 rebounds against Long Beach State and 10 points and nine boards against Weber State. Jean-Marie is averaging 8.8 points and 8.7 boards while hitting 41.7 percent from 3-point land in his first season with the team.

ABOUT WASHINGTON (4-1): The other prominent freshman for the Huskies - Jaden McDaniels - continues to do a little bit of everything from his forward spot. The Seattle native has scored in double figures in three straight and four out of the five games this season despite shooting 33.9 percent from the field and 22.2 percent from deep. McDaniels, who has gotten to the foul line 22 times and made 17, has averaged six rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.6 steals to go along with his 12.6 points for the Huskies, who have four more non-conference home games after this one - including a matchup with instate rival No. 8 Gonzaga on Dec. 8.

TIP-INS

1. Sophomore G Quade Green failed to dish out an assist for the Huskies against Montana after serving 20 in the first four games.

2. The Toreros, who fell to the Huskies 66-63 last season, have lost 17 straight games to ranked opponents and haven't beaten a ranked opponent in a true road game since 2002.

3. Washington is allowing 58.8 points per game - 37th in the nation entering Saturday.

PREDICTION: Washington 75, San Diego 60
