Cincinnati has worked a record amount of overtime this holiday season, so it hopes to need only 40 minutes to defeat visiting Vermont on Tuesday. The Bearcats have played a school-record three straight overtime games - one shy of the NCAA mark - after Saturday's 72-65 victory over UNLV succeeded back-to-back 45-minute contests in the Paradise Jam.

"OK, I don't need overtime games every time,'' Cincinnati first-year coach John Brannen told reporters. "I walked in the locker room and told them, 'Guys, you're lucky you have a 45-year-old coach. OK, because if I was 65 or 70 I might be hospitalized'." Cincinnati on Saturday was bolstered by the return of leading scorer Jarron Cumberland, who had 20 points after missing an 81-77 overtime loss to Valparaiso on Nov. 25 with an ankle injury. The Catamounts started 4-0, including a 70-68 victory at St. John's, but they have alternated losses and wins over their last five games. Vermont's first setback was at No. 2 Virginia 61-55 on Nov. 19 with their last a 65-52 loss at Yale on Sunday.

Stef Smith (12 points per game) didn't score in 30 minutes versus Yale, missing seven shots from the field. Ryan Davis averages 9.7 points and 5.2 rebounds after recording eight points and six boards in 20 minutes Sunday.

Chris Vogt, a 7-1 center, scored all 14 of his points against UNLV in the second half and overtime, and produces 13.1 points and a club-high seven rebounds. Keith Williams (11.3 points) and Jaevin Cumberland (9.6) - Jarron's cousin - provide scoring depth with Williams recording 14 points and a career-high eight boards Saturday.
