Last Meeting ( Feb 16, 2019 ) Oklahoma State 57, Texas 69

After averting its first 0-3 start in Big 12 Conference play in six seasons while registering a milestone victory, Texas will play only its fourth true road game when it visits Oklahoma State on Wednesday night. The Longhorns, who became the 18th program with 1,800 all-time wins, failed to reach 50 points in each of their last two way from home.

A lack of offense has been an ongoing concern for Texas, which snapped a two-game skid by relying on its defense in a 64-50 win over Kansas State on Saturday. “When you come up with a good win, which any win in league play is, you’ve got to build on it,” Longhorns coach Shaka Smart said. “You’ve got to capitalize." Texas' offensive woes pale in comparison to the Cowboys, who opened the season with seven straight victories but have lost their first three in conference play while averaging a meager 43.7 points. "We're a better shooting team than we've shot," Oklahoma State coach Mike Boynton said after his team shot under 31 percent for the third straight game in Saturday's 52-40 loss to TCU. "We've got some psychological issues right now."

TIME: 8 p.m. ET. TV: None

ABOUT TEXAS (11-4, 1-2 Big 12): The Longhorns labored from long range in their first two conference games, connecting on only 11 of their 45 attempts, but they knocked down 10-of-23 against Kansas State -- the fifth time this season they hit at least 10. Sophomore guard Andrew Jones scored in double figures in six of his first nine games but is averaging only 6.0 points and is 2-of-10 from 3-point range in conference play. “Andrew wants to be good as much or more than any player I’ve ever coached and he wants to help his team,” Smart told reporters.

ABOUT OKLAHOMA STATE (9-6, 0-3): The Cowboys have scored only 81 points in their last two games and ice-cold shooting from behind the arc is among the reasons, as they've connected on only 3-of-39 attempts. Senior guard Thomas Dziagwa, who has buried a team-leading 32 3-pointers, missed the loss against West Virginia due to the flu and was scoreless in his return to the lineup against TCU after misfiring on all five shots -- all from long range. Leading scorer Lindy Waters (12.0 ppg) also was held scoreless in Saturday's loss.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Texas G and leading scorer Matt Coleman has reached double digits 10 times.

2. Oklahoma State had won 12 in a row when holding teams under 60 points in a row until dropping its last two.

3. The home team has won the last six meetings.

PREDICTION: Texas 66, Oklahoma State 64
