Oklahoma State @ Iowa State preview
James H. Hilton Coliseum
Last Meeting ( Jan 19, 2019 ) Oklahoma State 59, Iowa State 72
A pair of Big 12 teams itching for a victory meet Tuesday at Iowa State, where the Cyclones look to get out of a rut against last-place Oklahoma State. Since picking up its only conference win against Oklahoma on Jan. 11, Iowa State has dropped back-to-back games to No. 2 Baylor and No. 18 Texas Tech while struggling to find their usually potent offense.
"It's frustrating," Cyclones leading scorer Tyrese Haliburton told reporters after his team shot under 40 percent for the third time in the last four games in Saturday's 72-52 loss to the Red Raiders. "Obviously, we care a lot about this program, for each other and how we're performing right now isn't the best to our ability." The Cowboys nearly had a breakthrough against Baylor on Saturday, but a tough stretch run led to a 75-68 loss. Four players had at least 14 points for Oklahoma State, which had its best shooting effort (41.1 percent) in Big 12 action. "I think there's a legit argument to be made that they're the best team in the country," coach Mike Boynton told the media of Baylor. "I am really, really proud of my team. I thought we played Oklahoma State basketball today."
