Fifth-ranked Louisville broke out on the offensive end to rout Clemson on Saturday and it will take its six-game winning streak into a two-game road stretch beginning Wednesday at Boston College. The Cardinals stayed on top in the ACC with an 80-62 win over the Tigers, their most lopsided victory during the six-game run and their best offensive output in nine games.

"We were really talking about playing with a ton more energy the last few days," Louisville coach Chris Mack told the media Saturday. "I really thought our team played with tremendous energy, really throughout the game. We had a little bit of a lull on offense, which has happened to us down the stretch, you sort of get that weird feeling, but I really think the story of the game was our ability to play with that much energy for 40 minutes." Junior guard Darius Perry scored a career-high 19 points and the Cardinals raced to a 31-9 lead before coasting in the second half. The Eagles, who knocked off Louisville at home last season, are one win away from matching their ACC victory total from 2018-19 after defeating Virginia Tech 61-56 on Saturday at home. Sophomore forward Jairus Hamilton scored a career-high 23 points as Boston College snapped a four-game slide.

ABOUT LOUISVILLE (17-3, 8-1 ACC): Perry was 4-of-16 from the floor over his previous four games before breaking out against Clemson while hitting 5-of-6 from 3-point range. "I feel like I've always shot the ball really well," Perry told reporters. "I had one game in high school where I scored 30 points on 10 3s, so I've never been shy shooting the ball. I just hadn't been shooting it well up to this point. Tonight, I shot the ball really well." His effort helped the team survive another relatively quiet game for leading scorer Jordan Nwora (18.7), who had 10 points and is averaging 8.7 over his last three contests.

ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE (10-10, 4-5): A much-heralded recruit, Hamilton had a lackluster freshman campaign last season and endured an injury early in 2019-20, but he's beginning to put things together and is averaging 18 points on 76.5 percent shooting - including 6-of-8 from 3-point range - over the last two games. "He's got the ball in areas where he's really effective," coach Jim Christian told reporters of Hamilton. "He's just so much more focused." Freshman guard Jay Heath chipped in 15 points Saturday to push his average to 12.2 per game, second on the team to senior guard Derryck Thornton (12.4).

BUZZER BEATERS

2. Cardinals senior F Dwayne Sutton leads his team and ranks fourth in the ACC in rebounding (8.9) after hauling in 11 against Clemson.

3. Louisville won six straight meetings prior to its loss in Chestnut Hill last season.
