Last Meeting ( Dec 7, 2019 ) Boston College 73, Notre Dame 72

Although signature wins remain scarce, Notre Dame is piling up enough victories to at least entertain the idea of picking up an NCAA Tournament at-large bid. The Fighting Irish will try to move over .500 in ACC play for the first time this season when they visit Boston College on Wednesday.

Notre Dame has won six of its last eight and entered Tuesday in a four-way tie for fifth place in the league, but all eight of its conference victories are against teams that began this week .500 in the ACC or worse - the latest an 87-71 triumph over Miami (Fla.) on Sunday. "I like how we’re playing right now," coach Mike Brey told reporters. "We know who we are; we've kind of figured it out." The Eagles, who picked up a one-point win at Notre Dame earlier this season, have dropped two in a row to fall into 10th place in the ACC. They let Clemson shoot 68.9 percent while hitting just 37.7 percent of their own shots in an 82-64 home loss to the Tigers on Saturday.

ABOUT NOTRE DAME (17-10, 8-8 ACC): Senior forward John Mooney leads the Irish in scoring (16.3) and rebounding (12.7 - second in Division I) and notched his 22nd double-double in Sunday's win. Sophomore guard Prentiss Hubb also had a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists, six days after recording 20 points and eight helpers in a win over North Carolina. "It's all thanks to my teammates," Hubb told the media. "They handled the shots, especially when Mooney and the other guys are running in transition. They just make it easier to get a double-double."

ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE (13-15, 7-10): Freshman Jay Heath has moved into a tie with senior Derryck Thornton atop the team's scoring list at 13 points per game apiece, with Heath averaging 16.7 over his last three games after producing 16 against Clemson. Senior Jared Hamilton chipped in 12 points Saturday while Thornton and fellow senior Nik Popovic had 10 apiece. Junior forward Steffon Mitchell finished with seven rebounds along with five steals and he entered Tuesday ranked sixth in the ACC on the boards (8.3) while leading the conference in steals (2.3).
