Last Meeting ( Jan 4, 2020 ) Duke 95, Miami-Florida 62

It's been a rough week for Duke as the Blue Devils dropped from No. 3 to No. 8 after back-to-back losses by almost identical scores to Clemson (79-72) and No. 10 Louisville (79-73), the first time they've lost consecutive games since February 2018. Mike Krzyzewski's troops look to get back on the winning track at home Tuesday as they get a rematch with a Miami team in the midst of a January swoon - four losses in five games - that began with a 95-62 loss to the Blue Devils on Jan. 4.

"We just need to learn from this and move on," Krzyzewski told reporters after the loss to Louisville. "Next one is Tuesday at home against Miami, and we need to move forward. As much as this one hurts, we need to put this one behind us and move on." One issue plaguing the Blue Devils is their flat starts against both Clemson and Louisville, including falling behind by 15 to the Cardinals thanks to 10 turnovers in the first half. The Hurricanes also come off a mistake-prone outing, committing a season-high 24 turnovers in an 83-79 overtime loss to No. 9 Florida State on Saturday, but Miami coach Jim Larranaga was proud of the fight his team displayed in the heartbreaking defeat despite watching a nine-point lead disappear in the final five minutes. "I thought our defensive effort was terrific," Larranaga said. "I liked the way they hustled, challenged shots, challenged rebounds and pulled together as a team. I thought they did a great job of building a lead. Unfortunately, Florida State did a good job of forcing some turnovers and making some key shots down the stretch."

ABOUT MIAMI (10-7, 2-5 ACC): The Hurricanes' top three shooters led the way against Florida State, with guard Chris Lykes pacing all scorers with six 3-pointers and 24 points, followed by DJ Vasiljevic with 19 points and Kameron McGusty with 15. The shorthanded Hurricanes received some help from freshman forward Anthony Walker, who played 13 minutes against the Seminoles after sitting out the last two contests and playing 11 total minutes in Miami's last five games. The Hurricanes outrebounded the Seminoles 41-36 led by forward Sam Waardenburg, who tied a career best with 11 rebounds, and center Rodney Miller Jr., who notched eight.

ABOUT DUKE (15-3, 5-2): Four players scored in double figures against Louisville, topped by freshman Cassius Stanley's career-high 24 points to give him an average of 18 points over the last five games, and he also recorded his first career double-double in the loss with 11 rebounds. Still, Duke shot just 37.1 percent as a team to put an end to its streak of games with at least 50 percent shooting at five, but the Blue Devils still have hit at least 50 percent of their shots from the floor in 11 games this season. Freshman star Vernon Carey Jr. was limited to 12 points, but he has nine 20-point games, including a 24-point performance in the first meeting with Miami in his return to his native South Florida.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. With its earlier victory over Miami, Duke extended its record to 21-7 against Miami, but the Hurricanes have played the Blue Devils tough of late as they are 5-6 against them under Larranaga.

2. Duke is tied for fifth best in the nation in blocked shots with 6.4 per game after recording six against Louisville.

3. Miami is a perfect 10-0 when leading or tied at halftime but 0-7 when trailing at the break.

PREDICTION: Duke 88, Miami 70
