Iowa State hopes to follow up its record-breaking performance and leave the Bahamas with two victories when the Cyclones meet No. 13 Seton Hall in the fifth-place game of the Battle 4 Atlantis on Friday night. Iowa State broke the tournament scoring record with a 104-89 victory over Alabama to open the consolation round, shooting 52.2 percent and draining 15-of-29 from 3-point range.

“It shows how good we can be when we make shots,” Cyclones junior guard Tyrese Haliburton told reporters after recording 23 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. “We’ve been in every game. Both losses we’ve had, we’ve been in and we’ve shot 25 percent from there. It shows when we hit shots, we can be dangerous.” Iowa State’s 104 points topped the previous record of 102 scored by Michigan against Charlotte in 2015 and the Cyclones will need another strong performance against talented Seton Hall, which beat Southern Mississippi 81-56 on Thursday. The Pirates coughed up a big lead to lose in the first round against Oregon and came back to shoot 50.9 percent from the field while knocking down 10-of-25 from 3-point range. Senior guard Myles Powell scored 32 points in the first round and added 18 more against the Golden Eagles despite limping off the court the night before.
