No. 24 Baylor looks to repeat the dominant performance from its season opener when it hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a non-conference contest on Monday. The Bears set a few school offensive records while blowing out Central Arkansas by 41 points, while the Islanders pulled out a last-second victory over Our Lady of the Lake.

Coach Scott Drew's squad was red-hot from 3-point range in its season opener as it hit 12-of-17 shots from beyond the arc, with point guard Manu Lecomte going 6-for-8. Forward Nuni Omot made his first collegiate start a memorable one, finishing with 15 points, nine assists and six rebounds as all five Bears starters scored in double figures. Despite having just six returning letter-winners, Baylor looks like its chemistry is spot on, with the team recording 29 assists on its 39 made field goals against Central Arkansas. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi had a balanced offensive attack in its opener, as guard Kareem South scored 16 points while forward Elijah Schmidt had a big night on the boards with 17 rebounds - including nine off the offensive glass.

ABOUT TEXAS A&M-CORPUS CHRISTI (1-0): The Islanders' offense will need a better performance if they're going to stay in the game against Baylor, as coach Willis Wilson's squad shot just 36.1 percent in its season-opening win. While Schmidt was solid on the boards, he finished 1-for-8 from the field, and guard Joseph Kilgore was 5-for-19 - including an 0-for-5 showing from 3-point range. The Islanders played some solid defense, but against a Baylor team that can score in bunches, Wilson is going to have to get a better shooting performance from his players to prevent being blown out.

ABOUT BAYLOR (1-0): Despite losing All-American forward Johnathan Motley and forward Ish Wainwright from last season's squad, Drew feels good about his current front line, which has great depth. Center Jo Lual-Acuil Jr., a 7-footer from Australia, should be a presence on both ends of the floor, as he showed with 17 points and nine boards in the season-opening win. Omot and Tristan Clark also will be expected to contribute more as starters, while Terry Maston and Mark Vital combined for 20 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists off the bench against Central Arkansas.

TIP-INS

1. The Bears set school records for field-goal percentage (.661) and 3-point percentage (.706) in the win over Central Arkansas.

2. Baylor had all five starters score in double figures for the first time since March 2014, a span of 105 games.

3. The Bears have won 44 straight non-conference home contests, the nation's second-longest active streak behind Duke's 132-game run.

PREDICTION: Baylor 98, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 60
