Connecticut expects to have star point guard Jalen Adams back in the lineup when it hosts Stony Brook on Tuesday. Adams was suspended for the Huskies' season opener, a 70-58 victory over Colgate.

UConn got 27 points from Terry Larrier to pull away from the Red Raiders in the second half of Friday night's opener. After transferring from VCU and sitting out a year, Larrier missed most of last season with a knee injury. "Sitting out those two years, I waited long," Larrier told reporters. "It was just all motivation to me. It fired me up. I got some easy baskets early and just continued to keep scoring." Stony Brook dropped a 76-61 decision to Maryland in its opener.

ABOUT STONY BROOK (0-1): The Seawolves got 17 points from Tyrell Sturdivant and 15 from Akwasi Yeboah against the Terrapins. Maryland took an early lead and was up 41-23 at the break and although Stony Brook hit seven 3-pointers after intermission it was never able to get closer than 12 points. The Seawolves finished second in the America East standings a year ago with a 12-4 mark and earned an appearance in the league playoff semifinal.

ABOUT UCONN (1-0): Adams, who averaged a team-high 14.4 points last season, was indefinitely suspended after being charged with a misdemeanor after leaving the scene of a motor scooter accident, but is reportedly available for Tuesday. Antoine Anderson, a graduate transfer from Fordham, scored 12 points in 35 minutes against Colgate. Although the contest was a struggle at times, the Huskies were satisfied after losing the first two games last season (Wagner and Northeastern) in games in which they were the decided favorites.
