Tulane looks to bounce back from its first loss of the season when it hosts Alcorn State on Wednesday. The Green Wave sped out to their first 5-0 start since the 2011-12 campaign before suffering a disappointing 70-59 setback to Georgia State on Sunday and hope to get back on track after being held to 31 percent shooting en route to their lowest scoring output of the season.

Tulane cruised past Alcorn State 83-41 in their only previous meeting on Nov. 25, 2011 and can match its win total from last season by late November with another victory. "Even though last year was 6-25, we were on a steady rise," Tulane coach Mike Dunleavy Sr. told reporters. "I felt like our last 10 games of the season, we could be in any game with anyone and there was a carry-over." The Green Wave have split their last six meetings with teams from the Southwest Athletic Conference and aim to take care of business with one of the biggest games in recent memory on deck when they face defending national champion North Carolina on Sunday. Alcorn State ended a six-game slide with an 103-56 victory against Concordia College on Saturday and searches for back-to-back non-conference wins for the first time in over a year.

ABOUT ALCORN STATE (1-6): Reginal Johnson drained four 3-pointers en route to a team-high 20 points and Dante Sterling added a pair of 3s to finish with 14 points as the Braves made a season-high 13 shots from beyond the arc in the win against Concordia. A.J. Mosby and Avery Patterson added 10 points apiece to help Alcorn State notch its largest margin of victory since 1999. "I was really pleased with the effort and energy our guys played with," Alcorn State coach Montez Robinson said. "I made sure to give everyone an opportunity."

ABOUT TULANE (5-1):
Sophomore forward Samir Sehic came off the bench to lead the Green Wave with a career-high 20 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the loss to Georgia State. Melvin Frazier continued his stellar start to the season as he added 11 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and three steals against the Panthers, but Tulane was doomed by a 3-for-21 performance from 3-point range. Cameron Reynolds missed 11 of his 13 attempts from the field but registered 10 rebounds while Ray Ona Embo tallied nine points.
