Undefeated TCU will get its toughest test of the young season when in-state rival SMU visits Tuesday. The No. 20 Horned Frogs, who have a national-best 13-game win streak dating back to last year, have dropped five straight to the Mustangs.

The Mustangs dominated last year's meeting 74-59 and are coming off a 72-55 home win against then-No. 18 USC. SMU junior guard Shake Milton, the catalyst of the Mustangs' balanced offense, was named the American Athletic's player of the week for the second time after back-to-back 22-point performances. SMU's solid defense, ranked third nationally at 56.3 pointers, will try to slow the high-scoring Horned Frogs. Powered by double-double machine Kenrich Williams, TCU has scored at least 80 points six times.

TV: 9 p.m. ET, Fox Sports Southwest

ABOUT SMU (7-2): Milton leads the Mustangs with 18.7 points and is a close second to point guard Jimmy Whitt (9.7 points, 4.8 assists, 1.6 steals) with 4.0 assists and 1.4 steals. Jarrey Foster (14.7 points, 5.7 rebounds), Ethan Chargois (11.8 points, 5.2 rebounds) and Ben Emelogu (10.6 points, team-high 6.2 rebounds) also average double figures for the Mustangs, who also beat then-No. 2 Arizona. The Mustangs, who forced USC into a season-high 17 turnovers, force 16.0 turnovers thanks to 6.9 steals per game.

ABOUT TCU (8-0): Williams averages 12.4 points and 10.1 rebounds after his fourth straight double-double and is one of five starters averaging double-digit points. Vladimir Brodziansky (14.4 points) and Desmond Bane (14.1 points) are both shooting better than 66 percent from the floor and Bane has also sharp from the 3-point line where he has hit 20-of-32. Point guard Jaylen Fisher (11.1 points) has six straight games with at least five assists and has combined with Alex Robinson for 79 assists and 35 turnovers.

TIP-INS

1. Four of SMU's past five wins against TCU have come by eight points or fewer.

2. The Horned Frogs have outscored five straight opponents in the paint and have a plus-15 point advantage there.

3. Brodziansky (130) needs three blocks to tie Reggie Smith for fourth place on TCU's career list.

PREDICTION: SMU 84, TCU 75
