Florida State made a huge statement on Monday night, manhandling fifth-ranked Florida en route to an emotional 83-66 triumph on the road. With the win, their fourth straight against the rival Gators, the unranked Seminoles remain undefeated and they put their 24-game home winning streak on the line Wednesday as they host a one-win Loyola Maryland team finishing a four-game road trip.

"We played with so much aggressiveness and toughness tonight," Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton told reporters after the Florida win. "UF brought the best out of us tonight, and hopefully we'll continue to grow." The Seminoles dominated the Gators across the board and they held the lead for 36 minutes, with Florida going without a field goal for nearly 10 minutes of the second half. The Seminoles played tough inside and won the physical battles, owning huge advantages in offensive rebounds (23-11), second-chance points (24-8) and points in the paint (36-20). That tenacious defense resulted in the usually prolific Gators scorers shooting just 36.2 percent from the floor and 24 percent from 3-point range en route to scoring far less than their average coming in to the game, which had topped the nation at 99.5 points per game.

ABOUT LOYOLA MARYLAND (1-6): With a career-high 26 points in Saturday's loss to Mount St. Mary's - the most by a Loyola freshman since Jamal Hunter's 27 in March 1998 - Isaiah Hart became the latest Greyhound to eclipse the 20-point barrier in a game - joining Andre Walker, Cam Gregory, Andrew Kostecka and Chuck Champion. Hart also had a team-high four assists, while Gregory scored 19 points and had eight of the team's 36 rebounds. Loyola will have to be at its offensive best against the Seminoles as the Greyhounds have surpassed 75 points just once all season - in a win over Div. III Goucher - while Florida State has been held to 75 or fewer just once all season while averaging 88 points.

ABOUT FLORIDA STATE (7-0):
The Seminoles offense had some of its own issues against Florida, only shooting 38.9 percent from the field, but they were able to take full advantage of the Gators' miscues and inability to dominate the boards. Florida State turned Florida's season-worst 17 turnovers into 19 points and the Seminoles also shot its best free-throw percentage of the season (20-of-24). Four Seminoles ended up with double-digit scoring, with star guard Terance Mann carrying the team with 25 points and eight rebounds alongside senior forward Phil Cofer, who had his second career double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

TIP-INS

1. The Seminoles have won at least their first seven games of the season for the third time under Hamilton, and the first time since 2008-09.

2. Florida State joins Duke and Miami (Fla.) as only ACC teams yet to lose a game.

3. The Seminoles have posted at least seven steals in each of their first seven games after recording eight versus Florida.

PREDICTION: Florida State 94, Loyola Maryland 65
