Last Meeting ( Dec 7, 2016 ) George Washington 66, Temple 63

Temple quietly has posted some quality wins this season and can add another solid victory Sunday when it visits George Washington. The Owls already have defeated Auburn, Clemson and, most recently, South Carolina and now aim to knock off their former Atlantic 10 rival.

Its last time out, Temple edged South Carolina 76-60 in the Under Armour Reunion game at Madison Square Garden thanks to Quinton Rose's career-high 24 points. The 60 points allowed tied a season low for an Owls opponent, although there also were areas for improvement for Temple. The team shot just 4-of-17 from 3-point range -- not to mention 14-of-21 from the foul line -- and committed 14 turnovers. The Owls will aim to correct those issues against a Colonials team that won 66-63 at Temple a season ago.

TV: 2:30 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Philadelphia (Temple), MASN (George Washington)

ABOUT TEMPLE (4-1): Rose was quick to praise Damion Moore, who scored 20 points off the bench and added 10 rebounds in a much-needed performance against South Carolina. "I was going out there trying to be aggressive," said Rose. "It makes it a thousand times easier. The guy on defense has to make a decision earlier. If (Moore has) it going, (the defender) knows I'm going to dump it off, but he also has to step up and stop me from scoring." Rose leads the team at 18.8 points per game, while Shizz Alston Jr. (15.6 points) and Obi Enechionyia (15.4) are both shooting well over 40 percent from the 3-point arc.

ABOUT GEORGE WASHINGTON (3-4): The Colonials had dropped three straight games before knocking off Morgan State on Wednesday, although three of their losses this season have come against solid opponents in Florida State, Xavier and Kansas State. Yuta Watanabe leads four double-digit scorers at 14.7 points, although he shoots 38.9 percent from the field, as does Arnaldo Toro (10.0 points). Jair Bolden is the second-leading scorer on the squad at 13.0 points but also is struggling with his shooting (32.3 percent).

TIP-INS

1. Alston and fellow starting G Josh Brown combined to shoot 5-of-20 against South Carolina.

2. This game is part of the BB&T Classic.

3. Temple's challenging non-conference schedule continues against Wisconsin on Wednesday.
