Prairie View A&M @ Houston preview

Health & PE Arena

Last Meeting ( Dec 3, 2016 ) Prairie View A&M 61, Houston 105

Houston junior guard Corey Davis Jr. will look to keep his hot shooting streak going as the Cougars close their home non-conference schedule on Sunday. The Cougars host Prairie View A&M - a team they've beaten by a combined 85 points the past two years.

Davis has shot 17-of-31 beyond the arc since becoming a regular starter over the past four games. He's averaging 15 points per game in that span, including a season-high 20 points - and a season-high six 3-pointers - in Wednesday's 80-77 loss at LSU. The Panthers - who haven't played at home - are still looking for their first true road win of the season. They got close Thursday, erasing a 17-point second-half deficit before falling at Tulsa 77-73.

TV: 4 p.m. ET, FloHoops

Senior forward Zachary Hamilton adds 16.9 points and has scored in double figures in 17 straight games, while senior center JD Wallace adds 5.4 points and a team-best 7.5 rebounds after a double-double at Tulsa. Junior guard Dennis Jones is averaging 10.3 points in the past four games as a starter.

ABOUT HOUSTON (8-2): Senior guard Rob Gray (21.4 points, 3.9 assists) paces the Cougars and the American Athletic Conference in scoring after his third straight 20-point game. 3. Junior G Galen Robinson Jr. needs one assist to become the 19th player in Cougar history to record 300 for his career.
