SMU won't need to wait long to try to extend its 30-game home win streak. After cruising by Boise State on Monday, the Mustangs host Cal Poly on Tuesday.

The Mustangs' streak is the second-longest active streak in the country and dates back to the 2015-16 season. The Mustangs have used a solid defense - allowing 60.8 points while forcing 16.1 turnovers - has held 11 opponents to fewer than 70 points. Junior guard Jahmal McMurray, a transfer from South Florida, made a splash in his SMU debut with 16 points in 18 minutes off the bench on Monday. Cal Poly enters its road trip to Texas after three straight losses by an average of 18 points.

ABOUT CAL POLY (4-7): Junior point guard Donovan Fields leads the Mustangs with 14.7 points, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals. Hank Hollingsworth, a 6-10 sophomore, averages 5.1 points on a Big West Conference-leading 75-percent field-goal average and a team-high 5.9 rebounds. Senior guard Victor Joseph (13.8 points) has scored in double figures in 10 of the 11 games, while junior forward Josh Martin (9.2) is averaging 12.3 points in his last three outings since missing six games with an injury.

ABOUT SMU (9-3): Junior guard Shake Milton leads SMU - which has had at least five players score in double figures in three consecutive games - with 17.3 points and 4.8 assists. Sophomore guard Jimmy Whitt (11.2 points, 4.7 assists) has hit 37 of his last 49 shots during the past five games, including an 8-of-9 performance Monday. Senior Ben Emelogu II (10.8 points) leads the American Athletic Conference in 3-point shooting at 58.8 percent after hitting 6-of-7 in the past two games.

TIP-INS

1. Milton and Whitt - separated by a single assist - are ranked first and second, respectively, in assists in the AAC.

2. Fields is ranked fifth nationally in free-throw percentage at 96.6.

3. Milton (163) needs eight 3-pointers to pass Quinton Ross for sixth place on SMU's career made 3-pointers list.
