Tulane @ Fordham preview

Jamaica Classic Arena

On the heels of their 80-53 win over Colorado State on Friday, Tulane looks to run its record to 4-0 Sunday in its final matchup of the Jamaica Classic in Montego Bay. The Green Wave face a Fordham team that was easily dismissed by Florida State 67-43 in its tournament opener.

Tulane last enjoyed a 4-0 start during the 2013-14 campaign, but the high-scoring Green Wave, who were only picked to finish 10th out of 12 teams in the American Athletic Conference preseason poll, have been impressive thus far. The Green Wave's 27-point win over Colorado State was the school's largest since a 76-48 win over Appalachian State in 2015 and the biggest under second-year coach Mike Dunleavy. Tulane has been doing it offensively, averaging 90.3 points per game, but it was the defense that made life the most miserable for Colorado State, which hit just one of its first 17 field-goal attempts and shot just 35.5 percent for the game, including just 4-of-21 from the 3-point line. That defensive dominance doesn't bode well for a Fordham team that was held to 18 first-half points by Florida State on Friday and shot just 23.1 percent for the game.

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, CBS Sports Network

ABOUT TULANE (2-0): Cameron Reynolds extended his double-digit scoring streak to 21 straight games with his team-high 25 points against Colorado State as he went 8-for-13 and 4-for-8 from the 3-point line. Melvin Frazier was nearly perfect in going 8-for-9 from the floor, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, for 23 points. Ray Ona Embo hit double figures for the third straight game with 10 points, while Samir Sehic again made his presence felt off the bench with a team-leading nine rebounds in addition to eight points and four assists.

ABOUT FORDHAM (1-2): The Rams had an awful day shooting the ball against Florida State (23.1 percent), but senior Will Tavares still set a career high with 18 points, the only Ram in double figures. Joseph Chartouny came into the game averaging 14.5 points per game, but he managed just five points although he did lead the team with 11 rebounds in a game-high 36 minutes. One game after setting a school freshman record with seven 3-pointers, Ivan Raut went 0-for-6 on 3-pointers against Florida State and the team as a whole was a pitiful 1-for-22 from beyond the arc.

TIP-INS

1. Tulane won the only meeting between the teams in 1999 in the first basketball game at the New Orleans Arena.

2. Tulane only had five offensive rebounds and two second-chance points against Colorado State.

3. Fordham leads the Atlanta 10 in steals with 30.

PREDICTION: Tulane 88, Fordham 59
