Last Meeting ( Feb 5, 2019 ) Vanderbilt 66, Arkansas 69

Vanderbilt has already set a school record for consecutive losses and is inching closer to making history in the Southeastern Conference with two games remaining in the regular season. The reeling Commodores have what appears to be their best chance to avoid going winless in conference play when they host Arkansas on Wednesday night.

With a road game looming at No. 10 LSU on Saturday, Vanderbilt likely needs to avenge a loss to Arkansas last month or become the first team to finish 0-18 in SEC play. "(We) are looking at ways to make our team better in the future," Commodores coach Bryce Drew said after his team blew an early 11-point lead in Saturday's 64-57 loss at Texas A&M. "Hopefully in the next few years you are going to see these names and it is going to be a different story." The Razorbacks, who won the earlier meeting 69-66 on Feb. 5, have plenty of motivation -- they are tied with Texas A&M for 10th place in the league and are trying to earn the final first-round bye in the SEC tournament. "Right now we're playing for the seeding part of it, to see where we're going to be," Arkansas coach Mike Anderson said. "Vanderbilt is who's next up, and that's what we're thinking about right now."

ABOUT ARKANSAS (15-14, 6-10 SEC): The Razorbacks trailed with just over a minute to play before rallying for a dramatic 74-73 victory over Ole Miss on Saturday -- their fifth one-point decision of the season. "It's been more than interesting, I'll put it that way," Anderson said of the number of close calls. "It tells me that our guys are still fighting and scratching and clawing." Daniel Gafford, who leads the team in scoring (16.5 ppg) and rebounding (8.7), netted a game-high 28 points in last month's meeting.

ABOUT VANDERBILT (9-20, 0-16): Guard Joe Toye, the only player to be honored Wednesday on senior night, is coming off a rough outing Saturday, connecting on 1 of 11 shots overall and missing all 10 3-point attempts. Toye sparked a late comeback by knocking down four 3-pointers and matching his season high with 18 points at Arkansas last month, but he has scored a combined 17 points in the seven games since. Freshman forward Simi Shittu has notched double-doubles in two of the last three games and had 12 points at Arkansas.

OVERTIME

1. Razorbacks freshman G Isaiah Joe needs three 3-pointers to break the single-season school record held by Scotty Thurman (102).

2. The Commodores have lost their lost four home games by double digits.

3. Arkansas has drawn at least one charge in 17 straight games, including seven against Vanderbilt.

PREDICTION: Arkansas 68, Vanderbilt 66
