Iowa @ Rutgers preview
Louis Brown Athletic Center
Last Meeting ( Jan 17, 2018 ) Iowa 64, Rutgers 80
No. 17 Iowa looks to build on its most memorable win of the season when it visits Rutgers on Saturday. Jordan Bohannon knocked down the game-winning 3-pointer with 0.6 seconds remaining to cap an improbable 80-79 comeback victory over Northwestern after the Hawkeyes trailed by 11 points with 2:09 remaining, and hope to stay in the hunt for their first Big Ten regular-season title since 1979 by extending their winning streak to four games.
"I knew before the ball left my hand that I was going to make it," Bohannon told reporters. "We could have folded and probably would have the last couple of years but we stayed connected." Rutgers is enjoying its most productive season in the Big Ten since joining in 2014. The Scarlet Knights went a combined 9-63 in conference play the previous four seasons before notching their fifth Big Ten win of the campaign after taking down Northwestern 59-56 on Wednesday, and they hope to ride the momentum to their second home victory against a ranked opponent this season. "We want to continue to get better," Rutgers guard Geo Baker told reporters. "We can't make any mistakes on the defensive end against Iowa and I think we're ready for that challenge."
